A Special Concert in Petaluma, CA for ME/CFS
I’m playing a concert this fall that means a great deal to me, and I hope you’ll join me up in glorious Petaluma, CA. This theater will be simply magical and it’s a truly worthy cause – it’s worth the drive north! (Facebook Event / Tickets)
I have friends and loved ones who have suffered from ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome). If you know someone who experiences chronic pain or fatigue too, I hope you will share the word about this event. If you’re far from Petaluma, you’re invited to DONATE to one of the respected research and advocacy organizations linked below.
The song “Anchorage” is a theme for this concert. If you’ve never read into the subtext of that song, it’s about experiencing fear and disease, reconciling with the body, and choosing mindfulness, awareness, and song in the face of pain.
ME/CFS afflicts nearly 2 million people in the United States; it can severely limit people’s abilities with chronic pain and exhaustion, yet funds for research are scarce and public awareness of the condition remains very low. As a part of this concert, brief talks will be given by speakers from three highly-regarded national ME/CFS organizations: Bateman Horne Center, Solve ME/CFS Initiative and Open Medicine Foundation.

After six long years, Got to Fly has returned on CD!
Got to Fly is my second album from 2008, produced by Quantum Mechanix and inspired by Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. Although young and raw and eclectic, it remains one of my fans’ favorite records, and I sing songs from it most every night on tour.
The first printing was a limited edition of 1000 signed and numbered discs, and those have been sold out for years. But this November, by your many many requests, I have released a new CD in a recycled materials CD wallet, with all new artwork by Karen Luke Fildes (yup, my Mom)! They’re not in fancy jewel cases, it’s a little more reserved packaging than the limited edition, but I am sure you’ll enjoy it. It costs $12.95 plus S&H, and through Bandcamp we ship to Canada and abroad at or below cost.

San Diego Geek Girls Concert 2014
Join Marian Call for her annual offsite SDCC Geek Girl Concert! This year she’ll share the stage with Molly Lewis, and the fabulous Sarah Donner plays an opening set. RSVP to reserve a seat — space is limited! Update: a few seats are still available, but RSVP’s are closed. About 15 seats will be available on a first-come first-serve basis — they’ll be released at 6:30pm — and standing room will be available after that.
