42

Saturday Feb. 28th, 2026
Livestreaming Concert at Bandcamp.com
1pm AK / 2pm Pacific / 5pm Eastern

The ultimate question is before us, but at least we have the answer. Join Marian Call for a birthday concert from her living room, as she celebrates turning at least 42 (again)* by playing whatever dang songs are in her heart.

Join the party on February 28th at 1pm Alaska time / 2pm Pacific / 5pm Eastern. If you can’t make it live, your ticket entitles you to view the show for the following 48 hours. Donors’ Circle members and paid Patreon backers can always join for free by contacting Marian.

*Just because Marian has been 42 for some time does not preclude celebrating being that age, at minimum, with stories and songs.

For the Public

Every Shoulder to the Boulder

Hi — this is Marian.

I have a little song I’ve been singing a lot lately, in public places. I’ve been thinking about how to release it. After a lot of thinking, I’ve decided this is the way. I’m releasing it into the public domain.

It’s called “The Boulder,” but my friends affectionately refer to it as Heave ho, bitches. I wrote it in 2023. It isn’t long:

Now we all push together
We might not agree how far
But we all know which direction
gets us closer than we are
And we know we’re burnin’ daylight
with each second we don’t start
Every shoulder to the boulder, here we go — heave ho!
Every shoulder to the boulder; time to go.
